Job Description: Crane and Rigging Supervisor – Maritime Industry
As a Crane and Rigging Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all crane and rigging operations aboard vessels and offshore platforms. You’ll lead a team of riggers and crane operators to ensure that all lifting activities are carried out with the highest safety standards and within the project timeline.
Key Responsibilities: Crane and Rigging Supervisor – Maritime Industry
Delegate daily tasks to all department personnel in support of drydocking and ship
repair projects, prioritizing efficiency.
Ability to multitask and manage various repair / support items simultaneously
Review and analyze work specifications, develop plan to execute work, and
memorialize all work performed in written condition reports to the satisfaction of
onsite customer representative.
Interface with Project Managers and other trade supervisors to coordinate the
efficient completion of tasks
Physically supervise all ongoing work and provide direction when necessary.
Submit daily reports for manpower, identifying work carried out and man hours including timesheets for department staff
Preferred Qualifications/Experience: Crane and Rigging Supervisor – Maritime Industry
Minimum five years of experience in Marine rigging at ship repair facility.
Previous experience with weight testing for shipboard cranes and equipment.
Previous experience operating crane and fork truck preferred.
Availability to work 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday including weekends when needed.
Valid Crane Operator Certification (e.g., NCCCO, API, or equivalent).
In-depth knowledge of maritime lifting operations, including safety regulations (OSHA, API, etc.).
Experience with various types of cranes (mobile, crawler, tower, etc.) and rigging equipment.
