What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Controls - sales engineer position at RSD Total Control?
The position requires the individual to apply their HVAC and Controls knowledge in support of our contractor and end user accounts. The type of support varies, but typically includes sales calls, both in person and remote, projects walks, plan review and control system bids and proposals, project management of sold projects and host trainings both on and offsite. The role is intended to cultivate new customers, and support and maintain existing relationships within our business model.
The position requires a basic and proficient level of computer skills and understanding of software tools such as Word, Excel and Power Point. Additionally, the individual is required to closely interact with the assigned Project Engineer and Customer Service in the timely delivery and / or completion of each project. This role will also require the individual to be an exceptional communicator, both internally and externally, and be self-motivated requiring little management to be an effective business developer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintains strong business relationships with primary account responsibility
- Develops strategies to grow the number of customers and increase annual sales
- Owns the project success after the sale
- Performs project “take-offs” on behalf of the customer request, develop and write bids / proposals
- Provide control solutions using internal & external resources for new construction and retrofit projects
- Develops and promotes training for customers targeting growth opportunity product lines
- Diligent follow-up on projects, customers and proposals
