What are the responsibilities and job description for the MES Functional Lead position at RSM Solutions, Inc?
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at the MES Functional Lead role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it. If you have read my JD's in the past, you know the drill by now. But, if you are new...realize that I am a real live person (no Bots no AI) writing this. The reason I mention this is that you will see some humor scattered in this job description (yep, humor is still allowed)...so, if there is something here that gives you a chuckle, that was the intent.
As with just about every role I work on, that social fit is pretty important (as you might have guessed). One may ask....so, what are those social 'fit' characteristics? Im glad you asked...here are some:
- This role is for one of my favorite software companies. They have a decent amount of structure behind what they do (SOPs and so on), while also having a degree of flexibility when it comes to implementations and so on. So, you won't be in a situation where you are being 'hyper monitored' (there is a less politically correct way to say this) in your activities.
- This is a limited drama place...I know this may sound like a relatively simple thing to say...so, let me elaborate. If you are the kind of individual who thinks the world revolves around you, then you may be a good fit for being an Instagram Influencer (I still don't know what those people do), but you probably wont be a fit here. So, if you are the kind of person who gets along well with others, enjoys working together and so on, then we DO have the start of a great fit.
This role is being done in a hybrid manner in Orland Park, Illinois. I am really only considering candidates that are within driving distance to Orland Park. In addition, I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role. I cannot work with H1, OPT, EAD, F1, or anyone that is not already a US Citizen or Green Card Holder for this role.
For this role, we are seeking an individual who can, from a functional standpoint, work on MES implementations with this client's customer base. You will be working on all those nifty functional aspects of how manufacturing actually works. So, a solid understanding of how manufacturing behaves, how PO's work, how BOM's work and so on will be a key part to this role.
Over the first 30-90 days of this role, you will be learning MES's and how to implement them. Eventually, you will become an SME in implementing MES's.
Some of those key responsibilities for this role will include conducting workshops with key customer stakeholders to analyze and document manufacturing processes; define & document functional & technical solutions required to implement MES's at customer sites; conduct formal training sessions for those key customer stakeholders; strategize & advise customers regarding products that could improve & enhance operations.
Here is what we are seeking in this role:
- Hands on experience in manufacturing operations (machining, fabrication, assembly processes, tooling, etc) from an IT standpoint. This will need to include advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and production logistics.
- Experience in production planning with an understanding of planning methodologies, MRP, and ERPs.
- Experience with quality management systems.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
