As a member of our Credits, Incentives and Methods - Energy and Excise team, you will advise clients who are developing innovative clean energy projects and guide them on the implementation of the provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. You will also work on excise tax technical issues and controversy matters. A background in the energy industry is highly desirable.
RSM's Washington National Tax team is an experience-based group of distinguished tax professionals who track tax developments directly from the sources and immediately translate the information into how these changes impact our clients. With resources across the country and a physical presence in Washington, D.C., our team stays up to date on the latest developments in tax policy and tax developments. Team members share their analysis of potential implications of new tax laws, Treasury regulations, and IRS pronouncements through a regular cadence of articles, webcasts, and newsletters while working closely with our engagement teams and clients.
We are currently seeking candidates to help lead the energy and excise team. A background in serving renewable energy industry clients is highly desirable. Experience and expertise in one or more areas from the list below is required, as well as interest and ability to quickly get up to speed in the full range of excise tax and clean energy credits and incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 :
- Investment tax credit (ITC)
- Production tax credit (PTC)
- Carbon capture and sequestration credit
- Electric vehicles and refueling property credits
- Renewable fuel credits
- ESG Tax and sustainability
- Federal excise tax (fuel, heavy vehicles, air transportation, manufacturers taxes, environmental taxes, etc.)
- Accounting methods

Compensation Range : $97,200 - $183,700
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
