Job Overview:
Responsible for overseeing the completion of production orders to satisfy demand requirements on time. Manages day to day activities ensuring safe production of quality products. The Floor Manager will operate out of the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
- Direct Assemblers on day-to-day production activities ensuring completion of manufacturing activities as scheduled.
- Improve manufacturing process and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency.
- Provide input on manufacturing work instructions and SOP’s ensuring they are accurate to the process being performed.
- Manage workforce and advise on resource needs for all work cells and collaborate with planning to forecast labor needs.
- Ensure in process quality standards are being met; random daily inspection of workmanship offering coaching and training when needed.
- Monitor accuracy of time reporting and correcting as needed.
- Provide guidance on daily output standards
- Oversee floor team members by providing guidance, training, and corrective action as necessary
- Ensure documented training is completed as required and is up to date.
- Seek to improve existing standards and procedures to support continuous improvement within the department
- Collaborate with Facilities & Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment and tools are in safe and operating status and issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with SCM and production team members on material needs validating requests and engaging SCM when opportunities for improvement arise.
- Support and maintain a culture of safety by leading safety initiatives in conjunction with the Environmental Health and Safety Team.
- Maintain a culture of safety and 7S Workplace Organization compliance.
- Ensure documented training is completed as required and is up to date.
- Coordinate the logistics and distribution of finished products to ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Manage WIP inventory locations, accuracy, and accounting.
- Maintain a Lean Thinking and Workplace Organization compliance.
Work environment:
- Floor managers typically work in a Warehouse environment, although they may occasionally visit worksites to observe a project or to meet with clients
- The work environment is constrained to a standard, unconditioned warehouse and production space.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to falling objects, floor hazards, machine hazards, and hazards associated with driving a forklift.
- When on worksites, Floor managers are to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt, working around energized equipment
- This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.
Location:
Rex Moore facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the President or Manufacturing Director

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 5 years working experience in a Manufacturing or Construction environment
- 2 years Electrical experience
- Experience with lean manufacturing is a strongly desired
- Excellent communication skills with ability to coach and mentor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Continuously stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist; and work in limited space.
