Summer Site Coordinator

As Summer Site Coordinator you will oversee successful planning and programming for summer learning working in close collaboration with RSU 21 building and district administrators. The goal of Summer Boost is to stem student learning loss and optimize academic achievement across K-12 mathematics and literacy along with social emotional learning.
Reports to: Instruction and Assessment Officer
Qualifications: Love what you do, working with students to accelerate and optimize their learning growth and achievement.
Maine Certified administrator with at least one (1) year of administration experience preferred; Maine State Educator certification required
Experience developing and implementing curriculum, lesson plans
Experience collaborating with academic professionals to explore, pinpoint, and implement student learning opportunities
Record of success collaborating with academic teachers and other personnel in a summer setting to provide constructive feedback for continual learning and improvement
Technology-savvy (Google Suite, Smart Board)
Essential Responsibilities:
Student Recruitment, Enrollment, and Engagement
Support engagement efforts of students in partner schools
Participate in regular check-ins for instructional updates
Co-plan and attend site-level student engagement activities prior to summer program.
Attend mandatory central planning meetings related to student recruitment, enrollment, and engagement
Curriculum and Coaching
Attend mandatory central training sessions and online modules related to curriculum and coaching
Co-facilitate site level curriculum planning sessions (if applicable)
Serve as lead for curriculum development and implementation
Engage with site staff to implement Math and Literacy curricula to target RSU 21 academic standards and deliver engaging, educational programming and social emotional learning for students
Deliver coaching with multi-pronged goals of RSU 21 Summer Learning in mind: academics, skill development, and program quality
Facilitate staff utilization of student data for curriculum and program planning
Site Management
Attend all RSU 21 Summer Learning PD sessions to prepare for summer programming.
Serve as the primary point of contact for parent and caregiver communications
Serve as the liaison between Summer Boost and town recreation departments
Operations and Program Management
Ensure all curriculum materials are on site, on time
Track work of RSU 21 teachers, complete time reporting forms for payroll
Arrange for coverage in the event of teaching staff absences
Oversee progress monitoring and assessment for each student
Perform duties in collaboration with administration include, for example:
Execute and enforce site policies and student discipline code
Coordinate emergency response procedures in the event of an emergency
Develop program schedule in advance of summer programming, including special events
Establish and co-facilitate regular meetings between RSU 21 teachers, and other staff during summer to share feedback, discuss progress of programming (at least weekly)
Track quality of programming to ensure intended outcomes are on track to be met
Implement and summarize program evaluation protocols and evaluations, including but not limited to surveys, tests, etc.
Compile inventory of curriculum materials after conclusion of programming.
Collaborate with RSU21 administrators to implement overall program evaluation
All other duties as assigned
Conduct performance evaluations on each staff member

Summer Boost Schedule:
Pre-Summer Boost - scheduled planning meetings, training and professional development, and separate on-site planning (to be scheduled by site management team)
Summer Boost - July 7 - July 31 (Mondays - Thursdays)
Attendance at one family engagement event
Post-Summer Boost – Various wrap-up tasks, such as submitting end-of-session performance evaluations, completing the curriculum inventory, and other essential duties, must be completed immediately after the conclusion of the Summer Boost program.
