RSUI is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our Binding Authority department in Atlanta, Georgia! The Underwriting Assistant helps maintain efficient day-to-day operations and ensures that processes are running smoothly in a high energy environment.
Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in the insurance industry, preferably with both General Liability and Property coverages. They will be organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. Bringing a team-player approach to their work is essential, plus a positive attitude and “entrepreneurial spirit”, where no daily task is too big or too small. Ideal candidates will place high priority on providing top-notch internal customer service. They’ll have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite tools like Outlook, Excel, and Word; and will be eager to learn our home-grown underwriting IT systems.
As RSUI is a highly team-oriented work environment with a specialized area of industry focus, in-person interaction and real-time, fast-paced collaboration are essential to our success. Building strong working relationships is a key component of RSUI’s culture, and doing so is accomplished, in part, through engaging in meaningful dialogue and making professional connections. Team meetings, employee events, and other work obligations also often require an in-person presence. This position will work RSUI’s hybrid work schedule, which requires three days weekly in the office.

Responsibilities:
- Handle and resolve Help Desk tickets relating to Binding Authority systems.
- Work with Accounting to resolve premium discrepancies.
- Assist with ordering and calculating premium audits.
- Provide underwriting assistant support (e.g. underwriting audits and inspection reviews).
- Perform initial policy review on newly appointed agents.
- Compile management reports using RSUI systems.
- Respond promptly to inquiries received through RSUI website portal and by phone.
- Log and distribute referral submissions to underwriters.
- May perform other related tasks as assigned, depending on business need.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; some college preferred OR equivalent business experience.
- 5 or more years prior insurance experience, Binding Authority experience a plus.
- Prior experience with both General Liability and Property coverages preferred.
- Knowledge of imaging systems.
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
- Good math aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal).
- Team player.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel & Word).
