What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ohio and/or Kentucky Certified Sprinkler Inspector position at RTF Fire Protection?
Job Summary
The Certified Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, backflow preventers and fire hydrants. The Certified Sprinkler Inspector will work directly with the Inspection Manager, Inspection Coordinator, office staff, and other field technicians. Depending on qualification and experience, the Certified Sprinkler Inspector will be provided with a company van, cell phone and I-pad. The Certified Sprinkler Inspector will report directly to the Inspection Manager.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet all regulatory requirements.
- Test fire alarm systems in conjunction with sprinkler systems to verify operational integrity.
- Identify and detect any issues or deficiencies within the systems, documenting findings accurately for reporting purposes.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for repairs, maintenance, and installation of sprinkler components as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members on system design projects to enhance existing fire protection measures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and maintenance activities in compliance with industry standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service during field service visits, addressing client concerns and explaining findings clearly.
- Stay updated on the latest NEC codes and industry best practices related to fire safety.
Skills
- Proficient in reading schematics related to fire sprinkler systems.
- Strong understanding of low voltage electrical systems and their integration with fire alarm technologies.
- Experience in field service roles related to fire protection or similar industries.
- Knowledge of fire alarm sales techniques is a plus.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members alike.
