What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Career Survey Specialist position at RTI International?
RTI International’s Data Practice Area has over 60 years of experience delivering excellence to our clients. Comprised of 250 research professionals, we collect complex behavioral and attitudinal data in many settings. Currently, we have an opening for an Early Career Survey Specialist. The successful individual will perform a variety of technical, clerical, and data processing duties to support research professionals with the collection, compilation, and documentation of research information. Candidates with a relevant bachelor’s degree and those who will receive their degree in May 2024 will be considered.
Responsibilities
· Obtaining/verifying contact information
· Recruiting study participants
· Tracking data collection production activities, compiling response rates and cost data
· Supporting field training sessions and field observations
· Conducting data quality reviews by reviewing data frequencies, computer-assisted recorded interviews, GPS data, and other reports
· Coordinating and developing project-specific materials like lead letters and study brochures
· Conducting data quality checks on mail-outs
· Conducting questionnaire and survey management system testing; preparing findings and testing documentation
· Assisting in the development of training manuals, job aids and other materials for primary data collection
· Contacting agencies and/or study participants to gather data and acting as a point of contact for non-response and data quality follow-up.
Qualifications
· BS/BA in sociology, psychology, political science, or a related field and 1 year of relevant experience (or relevant internships or co-ops in lieu of years of experience). May 2024 graduates are welcomed to apply.
· While in college, a demonstrated interest in survey research (e.g., survey research class projects, internships, or capstones).
· Demonstrated experience with or coursework in quantitative data analysis.
· Ability to occasionally travel for periods lasting anywhere from 3 – 5 days or even a week or longer per trip for field activities; in some instances, there may be multiple trips during a 12-month period.
· To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa.
