Position Description
RTI's International Development Group (IDG) is currently seeking a Financial Analyst.This positionwillbe responsibleforthe dailyfinancial managementof an anticipated USAID-fundedproject in Eastern Europe.Theywill work directly with the Project Management Unit andDivision leadertoprovideproactivefinancial analysis,risk assessment,leadershipand support on critical business initiatives.
The successful candidate possessesthe capability to manage multiple complex projects with a high degree of autonomy while identifying and implementing process improvements that increase efficiency across the organization.This individualmust be resourceful and take initiative in analyzing situations and applying principles and procedures toassistin the development of solutions to difficult problems.
This position willreport totheFinance Managerandwouldbe based in Washington, DC, or the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (RTI headquarters)or remote. The position will be expected to travel internationally up to 15% of the time.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. This position is contingent upon award and funding.
Responsibilities
- Perform project financial analysis, including variance analyses, forecasting costs and supporting add-on budgets
- Support project teams by reviewing costs for proper charging and accuracy; initiate journal entries; review invoices; support processing payment approvals; other ad-hoc requests
- Review initial project authorizations and project setup for accuracy to ensure accurate billing and labor reporting and proper revenue recognition.
- Support Division Finance Partners during month-end close process with recurring journal entries, reviewing for project compliance with financial metrics, and report preparation using Cognos and Excel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or financewith3years ofrelevantexperienceorMaster'sdegree with1yearsof relevant experience
- Provenexperienceinorganizationalfinancial analysis.
- Ability to obtain proper security clearances as noted by contracts.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities - Knowledge of US Government contractors, the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Experienceprovidingfinancial analysis to international projects and programs.
- Ability to learn new systems and familiarity with accounting systems.
- AdvancedproficiencyinMSOffice Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy across multiple projects.
- High-level organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
