Location: Evergen / Midwest Research Swine, 3413 11th St E, Glencoe, MN 55336
The Farm Technician is responsible for assisting the Farm Systems Manager in operating the MRS farm system. This includes transporting pigs within the MRS farm system, cleaning vehicles and trailers used for our farm system, and performing other tasks as directed by management as needed for operating the MRS farm system.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Farm Systems Manager with the following:
• Deliveries of pigs within MRS farm system and also with 3rd party pig suppliers
• Coordinate pig flow and inventories across multiple sites
• Coordinate inputs of the MRS farm system including feed, medications, and supplies
• Oversee and assure compliance with biosecurity practices across the farm system
• Transport animals within the MRS farm system
• Identify process improvements within the farm system operations
• Coordinate general maintenance on buildings, equipment and vehicles
• Work closely with Quality Assurance on compliance to standards, internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with HAACP Plan, USDA guidelines, Humane Handling Procedure and MRS procedures and report any non-compliance to management.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow GMP and sanitation practices when maintaining and cleaning buildings, equipment and vehicles.
• Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.
• Assist with administrative duties as directed by management
• Perform required tasks associated with hog production within the MRS system such as choring, vaccinating, and general animal care
• Interact professionally with team members and external suppliers.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: 2-year degree in Agriculture related major, preferred
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of wean-finish hog production and industry standards
Experience in hands-on tasks involved in hog production, required
Experience in the management of a hog operation, preferred
LICENSE
Class A CDL, preferred
Class D license, required
SKILLS
Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are key components.
Ability to ensure compliance to quality and regulatory requirements
Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Expertise in pig production environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• Onsite: Office environment with assigned workstation
• Frequent Travel transporting animals in company provided vehicle
