RESPONSIBILITIES
- Laboratory services duties (specimen receipt, specimen acceptability, entering information into LIMS, ordering/receipt of supplies, report distribution)
- Perform non-licensed testing, interpret results, and review pending reports
- Perform quality control of microorganisms, reagents, and equipment in the laboratory
- Obtain and file specimen rejection forms and revision requests as needed
- Identification of microorganisms from solid and liquid media
- Microbial reads, Gram Stain, Vitek instrumentation
- Documents and maintains all internal customer requests, discrepancies, complaints, and escalates to leadership for resolution
- Adheres to all regulatory, safety, and sampling requirements
- Assists in mentoring and training other team members
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Experience
- 2 years of experience working in a Laboratory
- Experience working in Microbiology Laboratory, preferred.

Physical Requirement
- Move or lift objects up to 25 pounds
- Frequent (>75%) stationary position (standing or sitting) while utilizing digital displays
- Frequent (>75%) fine manipulation using hands and fingers (typing, opening, writing, clicking, paper sorting, etc.)
Working Environment
- Constant wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Rigidly controlled and sterile environment; possible work near biomedical and chemical hazards
