Pay Rate: $20-21/Hr
Schedule: Mon-Friday 5:30 am – 2pm
Hours are heavier earlier in the week, often Fridays are half days.

JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Technician is responsible for following procedures for daily tasks, and responsibilities, achieving goals set by Quality Manager department goals and quality of work. Ensuring operations run smoothly, safely efficiently, cleanly, humanely and, within compliance as well as contributing to team efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Quality Technician is responsible for Harvest, Fabrication and Tissue room observations, inspections and, recording of inspection and results of the following but not limited to: Critical Control Point Inspections (Harvest and Fabrication).
• Sanitizer Checks.
• Pre-Operational Inspection Activities.
• Standard Sanitation Operating.
• Animal Welfare Monitoring.
• Temperature Monitoring. o Deficiencies noticed within the HACCP, Sanitation, and Food Defense programs.
• Microbiology Swab Program.
• Review all end of day documentation.
• Observe and record any deficiencies that relate to GMP’s.
• Monitor all finish goods production dates for HACCP Guidelines.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Take on additional responsibility and/or complete special projects as directed by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous knowledge in quality assurance, SQF, GMP, SOP, HACCP preferred but not required.
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or Harvesting environment, with a strong preference towards food manufacturing/processing.
• Knowledge of humane handling of hogs (PQA/TQA).
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
• Use of computer and ability to enter data in a quality management software system. Additionally, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word etc.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are key concepts.
• Perform a variety of specialized tasks in altering environments and the physical requirements of the job.
• Strong project and time management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for periods of time.
• Ability to spend periods of times in rooms that are cold.
• Proficiency in English.
