What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter/Designer (Onsite) position at RTP COMPANY?
The Drafter/Designer is responsible for creating and modifying detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, layouts (including building layouts for machine location) and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software to aid in the development and documentation of new materials, redesigns of existing materials and evaluation of testing as needed.

Actual wage is based on education and experience.
Hours: 8am - 5pm or 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and 3D modeling software to create detailed designs, based on sketches and/or specifications from maintenance, engineering and/or manufacturing.
- Prepare complete sets of drawings which include technical layout, multiple view, detail drawings and manufacturing drawings. Maintain proper documentation and database changes.
- Utilize mathematical formulas to compute weights, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
- Interface with internal staff as well as customers and vendors regarding technical issues pertaining to materials, design, usage, specifications, etc.
- Work with maintenance, engineering, and manufacturing on new product development.
- Check work for accuracy and compatibility with standards.
- Annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.
