What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Drafter/Designer position at RTP COMPANY?
The Drafter/Designer Intern works closely with the Drafting team to support plant and building drafting and designing needs.
**Not eligible for work sponsorship
Work Schedule:
- Full Time, Days - Monday through Friday (summer schedule)
- Part Time, Days - During the school year
Responsibilities
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and 3D modeling software to create detailed designs, based on sketches and/or specifications from maintenance, engineering and/or manufacturing, under the direction of the Drafting Team.
- Utilize mathematical formulas to compute weights, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
- Interface with internal staff regarding technical issues related to assigned projects.
- Work with maintenance, engineering, and manufacturing on drafting needs.
- Check work for accuracy and compatibility with standards.
- Maintain compliance with all work standards, company policies, and procedures.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.
