Miller Waste Mills operates a textile processing facility in Fremont, Indiana. Miller Wates Mills also does business as RTP Company. RTP Company is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics headquartered in Winona, Minnesota.
The Sales Engineer is a field-based position which is responsible for growing the textile business across a wide range of OEMs, Knitters, Weavers, and Manufacturers.
This position is strongly preferred to reside in or near Fremont, Indiana for regular engagement with the local product and processes. Relocation options may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow accounts within the textile industry. This includes developing account plans for the strategic accounts and products.
- Develops a prospecting plan which focuses on strategic targets and specific markets.
- Identify specific OEMs and large Manufacturers in the territory where we can work to get our materials specified.
- Consults with existing and potential clients to assess and understand needs.
- Perform high level sales activities at a variety of accounts, examples below.
- technical sales presentations to engineers and management
- price and contract negotiations
- creating new sales strategies at targeted accounts

- communicating customer’s technical requirements internally
- Achieve sales goals that align with assigned budgets and growth initiatives of the Miller Waste Mills and Crescent Woolen Mills.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to generate estimates and cost proposals for requests based on client requirements and proposed solutions.
- Ensure that customer needs are met, that may include material modifications.
- Obtain a deep understanding of the Miller Waste Mills and Crescent Woolen Mills product and processes. Proactively stay informed of materials and capabilities.
- Assists with research and development of new materials.
- Work with R&D and management to help develop products designed to meet current and future market needs
- Acts as the in-house market expert
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and needs to develop appropriate market strategies
- Develop and deploy focused promotional material and activities to support the market strategy and sales development
