Job Description:
This position supports our core value of Safety by ensuring that Safety comes first in all efforts. The skills and development of our team is another value to maintain a positive and progressive work environment. Highly analytical skills are needed to assess opportunities to improve processes, troubleshoot equipment failures and work to ensure our training is thorough, timely and accurate. This position will provide proper training to the Technicians on device troubleshooting and preventive maintenance both in-person and online, in partnership with our Training program. This position will also be responsible for design, implement, and document control solutions for Passenger Boarding Bridges and be on call as needed. This position requires strong project management skills, effective communication skills, be self-directed and have the ability to multi-task and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Duties include:
- Ability to work between the Technical Operations Department and the Training Department to identify needs and develop training for the field.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment including but not limited to Jetway, ThyssenKrupp, DEW, KCI, Telford, Hobart, FCX, Twist Aero, INET/Cavotec, Jetpower, Verde, Trilectron, MCM, Semler, Phoenix and Austral Star.
- Ability to work with multiple VFD drives including but not limited to Allen Bradley Flex series drives and Schneider Altivar series drives to troubleshoot and configure parameters to desired OEM specification.
- Ability to troubleshoot multiple PLC communications protocols including but not limited to ControlNet, Ethernet and Profibus.
- Ability to store and recall various manufacturer OEM manuals for PBB’s, GPU’s, PCA’s, PWC’s, FWC’s and RTU’s to aid in troubleshooting and development of others.
- Be familiar with parts identification to include how to identify manufacturer part numbers with the ability to purchase or request for purchase once a defect is identified.
- Must know how to navigate various CMMS systems to document use of parts and labor reports.
- Document control system and equipment configuration changes.
- Be responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation.
- PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read and use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)
- Mentor technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of control system working experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation, and support
- 5 years of schematic and diagram reading experience on control layout design
- 3 years of Passenger Boarding Bridge installation experience and Project Management experience.
- Flexibility with work hours and days (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation including holidays)
- Position is required to be on-call, including holidays and weekends
- Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word Powerpoint)
- Expertise with PLC and VFD troubleshooting and programming along with aptitude in electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with SCADA systems and BMS design
- Travel will be required up to 50% of the time.
- Degree or equivalent work experience
- OSHA 30 certification
