Overview
RTW is seeking an experienced Senior Director, Technology to oversee and enhance our highly reliable, institutional-class infrastructure within an MSP-managed Azure and Microsoft 365 environment.
The Senior Director, Technology will be responsible for all aspects of the firm's technology infrastructure, ensuring its fitness for purpose, collaborating with internal business teams and external technology providers to address infrastructure-related requests, and troubleshooting complex issues. The firm has several key ongoing software projects that are driving future growth of the firm and transforming technology from an operational to a strategic function.
The ideal candidate will possess a broad and deep understanding of technology, encompassing hands-on desktop support, Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, cybersecurity, remote access solutions, and experience collaborating with internal and external development teams.
This individual will guide and implement the firm's strategic vision in relation to the IT stack.
This role reports to the Managing Director of Operations and manages two IT Support Engineers (one employee and one MSP consultant).
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management:
- Ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the firm's technology infrastructure and cloud services.
MSP & Team Management:
- Manage the IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) relationship.
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of all IT issues.
- Collaborate with the MSP to evaluate and implement new services.
- Manage and mentor onsite IT support staff, fostering their professional development.
Software Development Enablement: RTW has three software development teams (Salesforce CRM, Databricks, and a custom Portfolio Management System)
- Collaborate with the internal/external software development teams and MSP engineering to provide scalable and high-performing cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure that software development teams' infrastructure aligns with the firm's security policies and meet availability requirements
Cybersecurity:
- Oversee security assessments and penetration tests with external GRC firms.
- Work with the MSP and software teams to remediate identified security risks.
- Enforce adherence to security controls and best practices.
- Identify and analyze security trends and potential threats.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and maintain a robust business continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and incident response plans.
- Develop and oversee a framework for periodic testing of these plans.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring their completion on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with various teams to ensure project alignment with business goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues.
Systems Implementation:
- Contribute to the implementation of new business systems.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth system integration and deployment.

Qualifications and Skills
- BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical experience.
- 10 years of relevant experience in a hedge fund, private equity firm, investment bank, or other premier financial services firm.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and SharePoint Online. Certifications a plus.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, techniques, and frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic environments.
- Experience working in an MSP-managed environment preferred.
- Experience managing junior IT staff preferred.
- Experience with Databricks and Salesforce preferred.
- Must be able to work from our New York City office 4-5 days per week.
The base salary for this New York-based position ranges from $185,000 - $230,000, depending on experience, skills, and responsibilities. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and the level at which the role is hired. In addition to the base salary, the role includes a discretionary incentive compensation program, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and life insurance, retirement plans, tax-free savings options, and access to additional healthcare programs.
