Role Overview

RTW Investments is seeking a Technical Writer to shape and share RTW's narrative. This role plays a key part in how RTW communicates its priorities and initiatives to investors, employees, and the broader community. The role will include researching and creating content for RTW’s primary corporate platforms, with a focus on the RTW Podcast, RTW’s Government Affairs practice, and RTW’s overall content generation. The ideal candidate will contribute to editorial planning and brainstorming sessions, researching and conducting interviews, curating and publishing content, and navigating stories through the approval process with both internal and external stakeholders, including compliance.

This position is full-time and reports to Senior Associate, Brand Experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing RTW articles, reports, e-books, and whitepapers to maintain consistent publication flow.
• Helping to research, write, and edit podcast scripts.
• Proactively researching trending topics in the biotech investment space.
• Partnering with analysts and leadership to draft long and short form content that establishes thought leadership.
• Working closely with the firm’s Government Affairs practice to draft rapid responses to policy changes affecting healthcare, biotech, and more. This will require the individual to write in an objective, non-political voice for a broad audience.
• Ensuring articles are optimized for SEO and compliant with SEC regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree required; English, Journalism or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• At least five years’ experience in digital communications/publishing, writing or journalism.
• Excellent writing, research, interviewing, story mining, and grammar skills.
• The ability to write relatable digital content for an external biotech investment audience without relying on artificial intelligence.
• Expertise in technical writing tools and style: maintaining a consistent voice, a clear and engaging tone, proper citations (AP style) and a solid grasp of grammar and usage rules.
• Knowledge and interest in the finance industry and markets preferred, and familiarity with industry compliance.
• Knowledge and interest in biotech, life sciences, or pharma preferred. Familiarity with policy is a plus.
• Familiarity with search engine optimized writing.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable juggling multiple priorities; strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively as a member of a team or independently and collaborate with different stakeholders at various levels.
• Diligent, self-motivated, and results driven.

The base salary for this New York-based position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, skills, and responsibilities. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and the level at which the role is hired. In addition to the base salary, the role includes a discretionary incentive compensation program, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and life insurance, retirement plans, tax-free savings options, and access to additional healthcare programs.
