What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside (Technical) Sales Representative position at Rubber & Specialties, Inc?

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Outside (Technical) Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meeting and/or exceeding sales goals by developing and executing effective sales strategies, driving prospecting efforts, and providing technical assistance pertaining to industrial hose, fittings, conveyor belting, gaskets, and other industrial supply products.


Rubber & Specialties is an industrial hose, belting, gasket, and accessory distributor who's mission is to provide unparalleled service and innovative solutions to those in manufacturing, maintenance, and operations, empowering our customers to achieve excellence and take pride in a job well done.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development & Implementation:

>Develop and implement targeted sales strategies to meet or surpass sales goals.

>Analyze sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies.

>Collaborate with internal teams and management to refine sales approaches.

>Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.

Prospecting & Lead Generation:

>Consistently generate a pipeline of qualified leads, achieving monthly prospecting and conversion targets.

>Conduct research and use networking strategies to identify potential customers.

>Engage in regular outreach, follow-ups, and manage leads using CRM tools.

Customer Visits & Relationship Management:

>Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients.

>Increase customer satisfaction through personalized meetings, product demos, and solution-driven presentations.

>Secure repeat business, referrals, and increase customer engagement.

>Follow up promptly on inquiries and feedback to ensure customer retention.

Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial products (Ideally with industrial hose, fittings, conveyor belts, gaskets, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • 2 years' experience in cold calling sales with strong track record of success
  • Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
