The Handyman Construction Worker will be responsible for performing a variety of construction and maintenance tasks with a focus on framing, sheet rock installation, and painting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas and be able to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform framing tasks including measuring, cutting, and assembling wood structures for residential and commercial projects.
- Install sheet rock, ensuring proper alignment, and finishing to a smooth and professional standard.
- Execute interior and exterior painting tasks, including surface preparation, priming, and applying paint with precision.
- Inspect and repair existing structures as needed.
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Provide estimates for time and materials required for projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise on the job site.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in framing, sheet rock installation, and painting.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good physical condition, able to lift heavy materials, and perform tasks that require climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in construction or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, specifically in framing, sheet rock, and painting.
