We are looking for a motivated self-starter to help grow the Ruby Cafe in Nelsonville! This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
The Nelsonville Cafe Assistant Manager (CAM) and Event Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining operations and scheduling events at the cafe in Nelsonville. This position will report directly to the Retail Operations Manager and will work closely with the Business Manager and marketing team. This role will include but not be limited to: staffing, employee management, inventory, maintaining coffee and service programs, retail operations, event planning, facilitating equipment and building maintenance, scheduling, and others.
This is a union position, and the terms of employment will be subject to an upcoming collective bargaining agreement currently in development.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
● Lead barista
● Hire, train, develop and schedule staff
● Money management
● Assist with social media for the Headquarters Cafe
● Maintain facilities, equipment and wares
● Coffee and service quality control
● Collaborate with Kitchen Manager and Retail Operations Manager on food and drink program
● Maintain Vendor relationships, facilitate and order items
● Manage inventory
● Help coordinate special events, staffing, and menus
● Retail merch inventory and merchandising
● Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and standards for the facility and restaurant
● Maintain grounds
● Maintain Toast
● Additional responsibilities
Events Tasks:
● Event program implementation
● Manage and respond to Events@ email
● Maintain schedule and calendar
● Handle staffing for the events
● Inventory ordering
● Awareness of local events, activities, and calendars
● Assist with social media for the Headquarters Cafe
● Pop-up scheduling
● Maintain Google calendar of events
● Collaborate with team on events
● Increase rental of HQ Cafe space
● Additional responsibilities
Education and/or Experience:
● 1 years experience in the restaurant business.
● Retail experience is preferred
● Event coordinating experience is preferred
● Must live locally
● Must have reliable transportation and license
● Basic PC Software Experience (ie…Point of Sale, Docs, Excel, and Slack)
● Experience with Toast preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong specialty coffee aptitude.
