Department: Main Office North Branch – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Classification: hourly, non-seasonal; part-time position

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Food Sourcing Assistant promotes positive results and enhances the donor and distribution leaders, volunteers and guests experience by providing exceptional service that supports the organizations vision. The Food Sourcing Assistant will be expected to contact food companies either by phone and/or email to obtain food donations to be used at our Pop-Up Pantry food distributions.
FOOD SOURCING DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary objective of this position is to provide food for the hungry.
- Develop new relationships with new and old business. Find new companies and name of contact person.
- Communicate by telephone, e-mailing, faxing and mailing.
- Basic understanding, familiarity and sensitivity to how Ruby’s Pantry functions.
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively within a high performance, result oriented, environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Exercise good judgment and discretion; strong ethical character.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel.
- Provide accurate and timely data entry into donor database.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. In particular, the ability to understand and organize detailed information and to write about or talk extemporaneously on that information.
- Ability to work cooperatively under pressure with a diverse range of people. Demonstrate ability to communicate tactfully with all members of society.
- Attend necessary training sessions and perform other duties as required to support the program.
Donor, Distribution Site, and Staff Relations
- Represent the ministry in a professional and courteous manner at all times
- Provides quality service to donors, distribution site leaders, volunteers, guests and employees recognizing their individual contribution to the success of our organization
- Prioritize tasks to promote efficiency
- Builds positive donor relations by providing information, guidelines, support, and options for donations or other giving opportunities
Qualifications/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional Computer experience: Word, Excel, Email, Database Management, Internet, Search Engines
- Communication skills
- Ethical and strong character; maintains confidentiality
- Able to prioritize and multi-task work
- Organizational skills
- Professional and upbeat; customer service skills
- Initiative and self-starter

Abilities, Skills, & Knowledge
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Experience in a distribution, customer related work setting preferred
- Ability to work with a variety of people in a busy work environment
- Basic computer skills in a Windows environment or must be willing to learn
- Work is performed in office setting and/or remotely
MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to handle any donor negative comments or actions in an appropriate professional and safe manner
- Addition, subtraction, count, copy figures, measure weights, record documentation.

- Minimal to heavy lifting at times, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reaching, standing, and walking
- Ability to work with/around cleaning chemicals
