Description
We are seeking a skilled UI Artist with a minimum of 3 years of game development experience and at least one shipped title. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our team to create visually stunning and user-friendly menus, icons, wireframes, and more, ensuring the game's features are presented clearly and consistently. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of both the artistic and user experience aspects of UI design, thrives in a collaborative environment, takes initiative, works autonomously, and is excited to contribute to a dynamic, well-funded startup.
A portfolio of work will be required upon submission.
ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Art Director to finalize the look and feel of our interface, with a presentation that has a consistent visual identity and language.Collaborate with the UX Director to ensure the interface provides a clear and easy to understand user experience.Create concept sketches, wireframes, mockups, transitions and animations for game features.Collaborate with engineers to carry designs from concept to final implementation in Unreal's UMG framework.Iterate on key player feedback to optimize for simplicity, comprehension, and function.Work closely with the team to iterate on the best solutions to UI challenges that come up.Qualifications
Required Skills
A strong understanding of fundamental graphic design principles (color, typography, layout, grid, hierarchy, animation, etc).Experience working with UX / UI designs that leverage gamepad and mouse / keyboard input types.Strong iconography and vector art skills.Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.An understanding of usability design principles and trends in the industry.Desired Skills
Proven experience implementing UI interfaces in Unreal's UMG toolset.Familiarity with prototyping and mockup software like Figma, Adobe XD, etc.A basic understanding of Unreal materials as they pertain to UI asset creation and display.Experience in 3D Software like Blender or MayaA degree in graphic design or related field.Benefits
