Job Title: JUNIOR SUPERINTENDENT

Department: FRAMING

Reports to: SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT / PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Spokane Valley, WA

Pay Range: $30 - $35 per hr

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent / Construction Manager / Foreman looking to advance their career. As a Junior Superintendent you will manage the team, coordinate labor for each project, maintain friendly relations with the client, build a realistic project plan, deliver the outcomes on time, schedule tasks, and delegate assignments. You will need to track the progress and performance of the project, along with the performance and efficiency of your team members. As a Junior Superintendent, you will be the driving force behind our diverse construction projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision

- Oversee day-to-day operations on the construction site.

- Ensure that work is completed safely, on time, and according to specifications.

2. Coordination

- Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, laborers, and other site workers.

- Ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to the project schedule.

3. Safety Management

- Enforce safety protocols and regulations.

- Conduct regular safety inspections and meetings.

4. Quality Assurance

- Inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.

- Address any quality issues promptly.

5. Progress Monitoring

- Track and document construction progress.

- Prepare daily reports on site activities, progress, and issues.

6. Problem Solving

- Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on site.

- Implement solutions to keep the project on track.

7. Material and Equipment Management

- Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time.

- Manage site inventory and ensure materials are used efficiently.

8. Communication

- Consult with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.

- Provide updates on site progress and any issues encountered.

9. Permits and Inspections

- Ensure all required inspections are conducted.

10. Documentation

- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material deliveries, and safety reports.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Foreman or Superintendent in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Custom Home Building experience, minimum 5 years
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • OSHA-30 certification
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Must be able to type at 30 WPM.
  • Must be able to operate personal computer, smart phone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field preferred

* Minimum of 5 years Custom Home Building experience

· Certifications -- preferred

o Certified Construction Management Certification

o First Aid, CPR, and AED: Basic safety and emergency response training.

o Forklift, Aerial Lift, Rigging, and Fall Protection

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience showing progression from entry-level to roles with increasing responsibility with at least 3 years in a Foreman or Superintendent position.

· At least 3 years’ experience in construction framing.

* Minimum of 5 years experience building Custom Homes

· Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations.

· Knowledge of construction methods and materials.

· Experience with material take-offs and estimating jobs.

· Strong organizational skills and planning abilities.

· Budgeting and cost control.

· Scheduling and time management.

· Ability to motivate a team.

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

· Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

· Risk Management.

· Quality control and assurance.

· Bilingual, Russian, is a plus.
