Optical Assembly Technician

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clean, inspect, and kit optical and opto-mechanical components

• Align and assemble optical assemblies per already developed procedures
• Record and document alignment and assembly processes and results
• Test assembled optical assemblies per already developed procedures

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate relevant lab equipment and computer programs
• Record data and findings comprehensively
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Normal office/laboratory environment, visual acuity for computer and drafting work.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• On-site at Tucson, AZ site full time, 40 hours per week expected.

• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and organization
• Dexterity and ability to work with hands
• Technical skills and ability to understand lab machinery and computer programs necessary to conducting tests
• Excellent work ethic

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• No experience required
• Previous scientific/engineering technician work experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree preferred
