What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Assembly Technician position at Ruda Optical?
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean, inspect, and kit optical and opto-mechanical components
- Align and assemble optical assemblies per already developed procedures
- Record and document alignment and assembly processes and results
- Test assembled optical assemblies per already developed procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operate relevant lab equipment and computer programs
- Record data and findings comprehensively
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Normal office/laboratory environment, visual acuity for computer and drafting work.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- On-site at Tucson, AZ site full time, 40 hours per week expected.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and organization
- Dexterity and ability to work with hands
- Technical skills and ability to understand lab machinery and computer programs necessary to conducting tests
- Excellent work ethic
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- No experience required
- Previous scientific/engineering technician work experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree preferred
