Position: Production Designer

Reports To: VP of Sourcing & Supply Chain

Role Overview: 

The Apparel/Accessory Graphic Production Artist is responsible for creating, refining, and preparing artwork for apparel and accessories. This role ensures designs are production-ready while maintaining brand integrity, quality, and accuracy. The artist works closely with cross-functional team design, product development, production, sales and vendors—to ensure that graphic designs meet technical specifications, financial targets, and are ready for the production process, from concept through final product.

Key Responsibilities:

1. File Preparation & Production-Ready Artwork

  • Ensure artwork is formatted properly for production, adhering to required file formats, resolutions, and color profiles, (screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, heat transfers etc.).
  • Prepare production-ready files by converting designs to meet specific print and manufacturing specifications, following brand guidelines and size requirements.
  • Manage revisions and file organization, ensuring revisions are properly archived and tracked. Oversee the transfer of approved artwork to vendors within the supply chain.
  • Proofreading & Accuracy: Review and proof all artwork to ensure text, visuals, and overall design are error-free and align with project requirements.
  • Build out the actual file based off specified vendor

2. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Communication

  • Collaborate with design, product development, sales, and purchasing to ensure that designs meet the brand’s creative vision while aligning with business objectives.
  • Pre-Season Alignment: Participate in cross functional kick off meetings to review and align on the seasonal art designs, along with the production process, from proof to finished product. Address potential challenges early in the season to ensure production consistency and high quality.

3. Quality Control & Consistency

  • Ensure that all artwork is consistent with brand guidelines and standards across all collections and product lines.
  • Review prototypes, samples, and final products to verify that designs are accurately produced and meet the company’s quality expectations.
  • Monitor the production process to catch and resolve any discrepancies or production challenges early, ensuring that the final products align with approved designs.

4. Efficiency & Deadline Management

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines for production and sample review.
  • Prioritize tasks and ensure that artwork is delivered on time for key production milestones, maintaining an organized workflow throughout the process.
  • Manage your KPIs for output

5. Technical Expertise & Continuous Learning

  • Stay up to date on the latest design software, print techniques, and trends in the apparel and accessories industry.
  • Continuously develop and enhance your technical skills to improve efficiency and innovation in the design process.
  • 3 years experience with Adobe Illustrator

6. Support & Problem-Solving

  • Provide ongoing technical support to cross-functional teams and vendors, offering solutions for any production-related issues that may arise.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve artwork issues during production, including color discrepancies, sizing problems, and print misalignments. Ensure any technical challenges are swiftly addressed to avoid production delays
