Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals and a strong understanding of canine behavior. As a Dog Trainer, you will be responsible for teaching dogs basic obedience commands, addressing behavioral issues, and providing guidance to pet owners on effective training techniques. Your role will play a crucial part in enhancing the bond between dogs and their owners, ensuring both parties enjoy a fulfilling relationship.
Duties
- Develop and implement training plans tailored to individual dogs' needs.
- Teach basic commands such as sit, down, stay, come, and heel using approved training techniques.
- Address behavioral issues such as reactivity, anxiety, and excessive barking through customized training strategies.
- Provide pet owners with guidance on proper handling techniques and ongoing training practices.
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's progress and communicate effectively with training team, company owner and pet owners regarding their dog's development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all animals during training sessions.
- Assist in animal care tasks as needed, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or skills in the following areas:
- Dog training or kennel management experience is beneficial.
- Background in veterinary care or as a veterinary technician is a plus.
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of animal behavior.
- Experience in customer service to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for animal care tasks.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is advantageous.
