Position Overview:
Begin your journey with Rugby as an Inside Sales Representative, where you’ll receive comprehensive training and gain in-depth knowledge of our products, services, and customer base. Once fully trained and prepared, you’ll transition into an Outside Sales Representative role, taking ownership of a defined sales territory.
Possible Territories:
Southwest Virginia – including Roanoke and extending south to the Tennessee border.
Greater Richmond Area & Tidewater Region – encompassing Richmond, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and surrounding coastal cities to the east.

Your Day-to-Day: to excel in this role, you will need to...
- Serve as a customer service representative: you will build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers through effective communication and exceptional service. You will engage our customers and sell our product through email, phone, and occasionally in person.
- Proactively identify and pursue sales opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Our Inside Sales Representatives develop a deep understanding of Rugby's product offerings to provide expert advice and recommendations to customers.
- Efficiently and accurately process customer orders, ensuring the timely delivery of products while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Take sales orders, preparing accurate price quotes and proposals for customers, negotiating terms when necessary.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues in a timely and professional manner, striving for prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and results, using CRM software as required.

- You have previous inside sales representative experience, preferably in the building materials or construction industry. Alternatively, you have served as a customer service representative in similar industries.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers. Your communication is factual, polite, and professional in nature – you will develop expertise from training and experience.
- You are reserved, yet people focused. You have a strong focus on repeatable, very high-quality results, and use your customer-focused mindset to solve problems.
- Knowledge of Rugby's product offerings or a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
- You prefer a steady, even pace of work, with a lot of predictability from one day to the next yet are goal-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
