We are looking for a strong Regional Credit Manager to join our Portland, OR office. The Credit Manager Position is accountable for the entire credit granting process. This consists of establishing credit limits for customer’s trade receivable accounts, and ongoing credit exposure monitoring while maintaining the mission of the company, To Be the Best Supplier to our Customers. This requires a collaborative effort between branch leadership and the customer. Rugby’s philosophy is unique, credit management is a tool to build relationships with our customers to maximize sales and limit bad debt. In this position you will be responsible for multiple Rugby locations credit portfolios. Duties will consist of collections, approving and monitoring payment plans, month end reporting, and communication with multiple internal customers such as Corporate Credit Manager, Sales, Distribution Managers, and other Regional Credit Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Credit analysis using financial information and credit reports
- Establishing initial credit lines and ongoing review of customer credit needs
- Develop and maintain score-based credit assessment of customers in addition to utilizing financial analysis to access credit worthiness.
- Skillful communication and interface with all organizational levels both internal functions and customers.
- Insure adherence to accepted credit granting standards
- Maintain collections of multiple aging/branches with a portfolio of up to 4 million in A/R.
- Schedule and maintain construction lien notices.
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws
- Lien experience a plus
- Experience in corporate credit/collections
- Strong negotiation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Energetic, detailed oriented
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage change initiatives
Training, Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of credit experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field from an accredited college/ university or equivalent work experience
- Ability to travel to assigned business units as necessary (approximately 20% or less)
