Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 27 branches throughout the United States. We primarily sell lumber products for our customers to make beautiful things and build happiness.
Position: We are growing! We are looking for a Specification Representative who will promote and create pull-through demand for Rugby Architectural Building Products for both the commercial and residential markets with the ultimate goal of driving increased revenues. You will serve two of our markets - Salt Lake City, and Boise. Your work environment will be hybrid - some telework, some work out of your local branch, and some travel to the other cities listed.

- Compensation which consists of a base salary between $60,000 and $75,000, plus potential for a performance bonus.

- Promote and sell our products to architects, designers, contractors, and other industry professionals. Serve as product manager for our entire product line to the A&D community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the design and architecture communities to generate product specifications and drive sales growth.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and specifiers to identify project requirements and provide tailored solutions using our full product line.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations and technical demonstrations to educate customers about the features, benefits, and applications of our products.
- Prepare and submit accurate and detailed product specifications for inclusion in project plans and specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits, attend industry trade shows, and participate in networking events to build brand awareness and expand the customer base.
- Conduct market research, staying up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments related to non-structural architectural lumber.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to identify opportunities for product improvement or expansion, providing this insight and recommendations to management.
- Interest in working for a company that values hard work and loyalty.
- Bachelor's degree or experience in architecture, interior design, construction management, or related fields.
- Proven experience in sales or specification development within related fields.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling presentations and technical demonstrations.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
- This role is a Safety Sensitive position and subject to routine drug screenings.
