Description
As a key member of the Rugged Science Executive Management team, the Controller reports to the CFO. The Controller’s primary day-to-day responsibility includes planning, implementing, managing and overseeing all financial-related activities of the company to include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, job costing, contract compliance and private and institutional financing .
The Controller is responsible for the monthly closing process and preparation of monthly financial reports, general ledger reconciliations, incurred cost calculations, maintaining DCAA relationships, bank compliance package preparation and special projects. This function supports the Executive Management Team to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. AD Hoc Reporting and analysis will be required.
The Controller takes a hands-on lead position in harmony with the Director of Manufacturing in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system through the company’s ERP system: Global Shop
The Controller directs and oversees all aspects of Contracts Compliance to include programs such as ITAR, Company Registrations in SAMs database and various responses regarding company quality systems; directs and oversees all aspects of Human Resources, including payroll, recruiting, benefits, security.
Requirements
- MBA and/or CPA
- 8 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in government contracting
- Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, DFARs, CAS, Sales & Use Taxes, Income Taxation
- Managerial experience to include management of 401(k) plans
- Strong negotiation skills
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
