Rugged Science is seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee and enhance our Purchasing Department. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, for both Industrial and Government applications. The preferred candidate will have at least five years’ experience with DOD Contracting and procurement management. Successful candidates will possess strong communication and managerial skills, a record of outstanding leadership performance, and familiarity and experience in utilizing ERP systems and other planning tools. The desire to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment is crucial for success at Rugged Science.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships to reduce costs and lead time
- Negotiate contract pricing with vendors to streamline the purchasing process and reduce cost
- Develop and manage supply chain strategy to ensure deadlines are met at the lowest possible cost
- Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate effectiveness of all aspects of the Supply Chain
- Oversee the Purchasing Department to execute best practices and measure performance through KPIs
- Work closely with Executive Management to develop and enforce standard purchasing practices to comply with DOD contract requirements
- Collaborate with Production Manager to review material requirements to avoid production delays and maintain on-time delivery for customer orders
- Manage new vendor evaluation and selection process
- Work closely with Executive, Production, Accounting, Sales and Engineering Management in a rapidly changing environment
- Develop and maintain an End-of-Life Inventory Management Program to ensure the Sales and Engineering Departments have adequate time to prepare for EOL material changes
- Identify sources for obsolete material and negotiate last time purchases
- Understand applicable laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing contracting operations (e.g. FAR, DFARS)
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Supply Chain Management Masters (Preferred)
- 2 years buyer experience
- 2 years managerial experience
