Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage company-wide budgets and forecasts, providing insights to leadership on financial performance and strategic adjustments.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial trends to ensure healthy financial growth.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
- Design and maintain robust financial systems and controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Manage and mentor a growing team of financial professionals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, operations, marketing) to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Provide monthly and ad hoc financial reports to senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and growth opportunities.
- Analyze financial data and develop actionable insights to help drive business strategy and optimize profitability.
- Tax Management:
- Oversee the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Risk Management:
- Assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage monthly closing processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Work closely with the executive team to analyze financial performance and implement strategies for improvement.
- Lead financial review meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring clear communication of financial performance.
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- CCA, CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 4-5 years of experience in finance and accounting,
- Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing P&L.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and tax requirements.
- Proficient in financial management software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, or similar tools).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Experience managing financial operations for a scaling company or business unit.
- Worked with or for a remote-first company.
- Work out of Florida.
