ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
- Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motor control systems. Ability to troubleshoot 240/480 3 phase motor wiring. Be able to wire up single phase and 3 phase motors.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems throughout the plant and facility.
- Track down electrical shorts and make repair. Ability to use multimeters and megger to analyze problem.
- Diagnoses electrical problems by attaching computer to PLC. Be able to read ladder logic to troubleshoot I/O.
- Installs wiring according to electrical code and hooks up new equipment, lighting, etc.
- Troubleshoots diagnoses, adjusts, calibrates and repairs electronic weight scales.
- Identifies problem areas and develops and installs modifications to improve efficiency.
- Performs minor fabricating which may require some welding.
- Orders parts and maintains documentations on electrical systems.
- Installs wiring to connect components to electric power source.
- Have working knowledge of AC/ DC drives for motors on conveyors, belts, pumps and other equipment.
- Maintains knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety policies, USDA, QA, HACCP and Sanitation rules and regulation, and company policies.
- Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
- All other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have gone through an apprenticeship program or technical school and demonstrated the ability to work without close supervision.
- Successful completion of a manufacturer’s school in PLC operation and diagnosis.
- Electrician’s certificate or completion of an approved apprenticeship or technical college program in electricity and electronics and/or two (2) years in plant electrical maintenance and repair.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have gone through an apprenticeship program or technical school
- Successful completion of a manufacturer’s school in PLC operation and diagnosis.
- Electrician’s certificate or completion of an approved apprenticeship or technical college program in electricity and electronics.
