Location
We are located in Bellingham Washington and have two beautiful offices, located in the heart of Downtown Bellingham and in Fairhaven.
Work Schedule
We offer flexible scheduling where staff are able to choose their own hours. We have both part-time and full-time positions open.

Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field

Current and Valid Department of Health credential
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- OR Current and Valid Department of Health associate credential in the above fields or be eligible for an associate credential
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to empathize with clients and their families
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Mental Health or Behavioral Health Clinician experience preferred
- Experience writing collaborative treatment plans
- Experience writing documentation to monitor client progress
Position Description
Behavioral Health Clinicians provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients on a regular basis guided by a treatment plan. They conduct psychosocial assessments for incoming clients and collaboratively develop treatment plans with clients and their families. They maintain HIPAA standards and adhere to ethical standards of practice. Behavioral Health Clinicians participate in case consultation or clinical supervision as applicable and work under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor and/or the Clinical Manager.
Position Duties
- Maintain confidentiality of client information according to HIPAA standards and agency policies
- Adhere to the NASW Code of Ethics and agency ethical standards in all areas of practice
- Conduct new client intakes and psychosocial assessments
- Provide mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, and intervention services
- Assess the strengths and needs of clients to inform services
- Review specific documentation with clients for clarity
- Develop and maintain collaborative treatment plans and conduct reviews as needed
- Modify and evaluate treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in client status
- Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions
- Utilize specific counseling methods and established practice standards in sessions
- Ensure client records are timely, thoroughly, and accurately updated according to federal, state, and agency guidelines
- Complete and maintain client-related documentation including client contact, client diagnostic records, and progress notes
- Arrange client referrals or recommendations for specialists where needed
- Follow-up with psychiatrists/attending physicians in cases involving hospitalization
- Collaborate with external psychiatric care providers as needed
- Collaborate with other staff to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans
- Act as client advocate to coordinate required services
- Refer clients, and/or family members to community resources as needed
- Discuss with individual clients and their families plans after services end
- Assess patients for risk of suicide, create appropriate treatment/safety plans as needed
- Perform crisis interventions with clients as necessary
- Write reports to courts, schools, or other community agencies as needed
- Coordinate or direct workshops, groups, courses, or training about mental health issues
- Communicate with administrative staff when needed
- Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in resolving identified needs
- Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses as well as seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies
- Gather and use information about community mental health needs or resources that could be used in conjunction with services
- Participate in Weekly Supervision with assigned Supervisor (if applicable)
- Participate in case consultation (if applicable)
- Maintain current DOH license in good standing throughout the duration of employment
- Other duties as assigned
