What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Server Assistant position at Rule of Thirds?
Rule of Thirds is a Japanese restaurant and event venue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, opened by Sunday Hospitality Group, the team behind Sunday in Brooklyn, El Quijote, and the Cafe Chelsea. We boast a dynamic event space that has recently been awarded Wedding Wire's Couples' Choice Award for the second year in a row! We are looking for hardworking, motivated individuals to help execute our events to the highest standards.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains tables by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses and being alert to guest needs
- Maintains cleanliness of bar area, service areas and equipment
- Adhere to assignments on each event’s BEO and Run of Show
- Work with Event Manager/Captain to ensure setup of event space prior to service
- Maintains sanitation to Department of Health standards, inspects event space continually to ensure compliance
- Assists servers in providing quality food and beverage service to guests according to specifications, courteously and efficiently
- Stocks all wares and equipment needed for events
- Accurately runs food from kitchen to tables

What You Bring
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working as a server assistant or food runner in a high-volume restaurant or event venue
- A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality service
- TIPS certification preferred
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, and holidays
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
