What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Rum Bay Restaurant @ Palm Island Resort?
Position Summary:
Assists the kitchen with putting together an order for a table, as well as assisting the service staff by serving food to tables.
Duties and Competencies:
· Learns, complies, and keeps up to date on all Palm Island Resort and departmental policies and procedures. (See Employee Handbook)
· Maintain clean and sanitary stock of dishes and utensils.
· Wash and sanitize all pots and utensils as necessary and store items in the appropriate area.
· During busy periods, rolls silverware to replenish dining room.
· Meets and exceeds high service standards following restaurant processes.
· Retrieves and preps ingredients for menu items.
· Complies with food handling and safety standards.
· Load soiled dishes into dish rack and prepare dish machine for cycle.
· Loan appropriate soap levels and time cycles and run dishes through cycle.
· Unload and stack dishes and glassware in appropriate storage areas.
· Sort silverware and utensils and place them in proper storage areas.
· Wash and sanitize all pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
· Maintain a clean work space at all times, keeping up with the dishes as they come in.
· Sweep and mop kitchen area.
· Remove all trash cans and mats from kitchen and store in appropriate area.
· Rinse all trash cans and ensure they are properly and safely stored.
· Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
· Clean and organize storage and receiving areas.
· Assist as necessary in kitchen.
· Pick up supplies and clean up function area.
· Sweep and maintain cleanliness of the loading dock and dumpster, hosing down daily.
· Works effectively with other service and kitchen staff.
· Uses professional practices in all situations.
· Employees are forbidden to consume alcohol while on the clock.
· Anything given without producing receipt is grounds for dismissal.
· Removal of any merchandise in not permitted.
· No discounts are given without management approval.
· Comply with department uniform standards.
· Adheres to assigned work schedule and is flexible according to business needs.
· Able to work independently and as a team.
· Maintains good personal hygiene.
· Perform other duties as assigned and assist other departments as needed.
Work Experience Requirements:
Knowledge of kitchen service procedures and practices.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Ability to carry weights up to 75 lbs.
· Must be able to reach 6 feet overhead to place dishware on shelves.
