RK&K is hiring an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in Wilkesboro, NC. The Construction Inspector will conduct field inspections for a wide range of Transportation, Highways and Structural construction projects in the heavy civil industry.
Essential Function
As a construction inspector in RK&K's Construction / CEI division you will perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate if appropriate materials and construction processes are being used; and that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions
- Multitask management of project assignments
- Conduct field inspections
- Use mobile devices to document work - as required in North Carolina
- Reviews drawings to prepare for the inspection. Understands the design of the construction that will be inspected
- Documents the results of the inspection and communicates to the supervisor
- Conducts field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation as well as other contract administration documentation
- Inspects work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices and maintenance thereof, utility coordination and right-of-way issue resolution
