CDL Rear Load Driver Opportunity
This role involves servicing customers with the collection and hauling of waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant. You will operate various types of trucks, managing routes in different areas, requiring excellent driving and maneuvering skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate truck safely, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Provide trash or recycling removal services by emptying containers into the truck and transporting them to disposal sites.
- Pull or push containers from enclosures or buildings, as needed.
- Deliver trash or recycling containers and replace receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area.
- Clean up waste spills and overflows.
- Maintain and update route and driver log sheets.
- Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs.
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand maps.
- Physical stamina to perform job requirements, including prolonged exertions like sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting.
- Enter/exit the truck approximately 300-500 times per day.
- Excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
- General knowledge of truck mechanics.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with customers.
Working Conditions:
- Valid Class B CDL required.
- Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain prior to hire.
- At least 19 years old.
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 2 years.
- No DUIs or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and tight driving areas.
- Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
- Ability to travel between offices, as required.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license (if applicable).
- Successful completion of pre-employment testing.
- Ability to read and speak English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the Waste Industry.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
