Overview:
The Mitigation Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of their mitigation team for the assigned office. Supervisors must be able to lead a team of technicians through each phase of the mitigation and/or environmental project from the initial stage to completion by providing emergency restoration and disaster recovery services to residential and commercial property owners. Mitigation Supervisors also meet with customers and walk them through the process of mitigation, assess the scope of work as well as supervise, develop, and mentor other technicians working on the job. Interfacing with other departments within the company will be required. This position directly reports to the Mitigation Manager or the Director of Mitigation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Proven ability to multitask and is detail oriented
- Ability to work within a team or independently
- Lead a group of 2 or more technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters
- Effectively assess extent of damage and help with the initial site inspection
- Prepare, operate, and track extraction and drying equipment
- High level performance of water mitigation, board up, mold remediation, and fire and smoke procedures
- Perform and/or direct team to perform necessary tasks to help expedite the completion of mitigation jobs, including but not limited to: Pickup and order materials, performing necessary mitigation at the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards and demolition; removing carpet, pad, flooring, drywall, insulation, etc. from the job site
- Focus and dedication to providing excellent customer service and ensure team provides excellent customer experience and recommend adjustments based on experience to serve in the best interest of the client and company
- Maintain regular internal and external communications for purposes of discussing matters relative to project schedules, changes in scope of work, material, and personnel resources to ensure smooth completion of project
- Provide daily updates to insurance adjusters, customers, and team
- Maintaining a professional, positive attitude and appearance at all times
- Maintain a clean, properly stocked, organized truck and maintain all equipment and following up with team to guarantee they do the same
- Responsible to report accurate records and complete paperwork for each job
- Proactively communicate jobsite conditions and concerns and enforce safety guidelines
- Work under time constraints to meet expected timelines
- Be able to and/or guide team to complete work orders including but not limited to: measurements, moisture readings, and necessary detailed paperwork and update our industry software
- Assist in development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping and encouraging development of skills through feedback and training
- Willing and able to be accessible by phone and respond to after-hour/weekend emergencies, as necessary, in the on-call schedule
- Out of town/state travel is a possibility
Physical Demands:
- Traveling to each job location requires the safe operation of a company vehicle
- Ability to lift 75 LBS frequently
- Working in confined spaces
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, balancing, walking, standing
- Due to the nature of the work, the jobs site can often be dirty, possibly cold or wet, and sometimes unsanitary
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years field experience or; IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FRST, OR AMRT)
- Mitigation and water drying experience preferred
- Related experience in Construction, Restoration, Insurance preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their uses
- Attire must meet OSHA requirements for the specific job site
- Using protection through the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Must pass a Fit Test for proper fit of respirator
- Comfortable with utilizing company and industry specific programs, software, and applications in accessing and uploading documents, forms, and reports
- Ability to effectively teach and contribute to the development of your team of technicians through demonstration, training, and encouraging opportunities for growth
