Job Title: Part-Time Security Guard

Reports To: Head of Safety and Security
Classification: 10-month employee
The Rumson Country Day School is seeking a part-time afternoon Security Officer. The Rumson Country Day School’s Department of Safety and Security’s mission is to provide highly efficient and effective emergency and operation plans, while ensuring the well-being of the students, guests, faculty and staff. If necessary, make split second decisions, concerning every aspect of protecting those at the RCDS.
Requirements
Prior Law Enforcement experience is required.
After School Security Officer Duties and Responsibilities
- Make decisions in emergency situations including but not limited to first aid, fire, lock downs, and evacuations.
- Manage the security desk.
- Control access to the building and visitor screening.
- Assist with rolling dismissal.
- Maintain a presence in and around the security lobby and Riker Hall.
- Maintain visual watch on all cameras around the building via cctv.
- Provide access to parents/guardians entering building as needed.
- Secure building after all students and teachers have left for the day.
- You must adapt easily to different environments.
- You must have a confident personality and enjoy interacting with others.
- You must have excellent communication skills.
- You must work well with other members of the building such as parents and students.
- You must work well under little direct management.
- You are reliable, punctual, and have superb attendance.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday 2:00pm to 6:00pm (20 hours)
- Opportunity for extra hours for after school sports, activities and weekend events
