What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Care Specialist (Full Time) position at Run Dog Run, Inc?
Run Dog Run provides premium dog care for our dog clients and their owners throughout Kitsap County. We are hiring a full time pet care specialist for our dog daycare service. This role requires working 9am-6pm Sunday through Thursday. You must be able to consistently work these hours including on the occasional holiday weekend.
Our pet care specialists interact with many different dog breeds each day and help our dog clients become socialized, play and get their energy out in a safe, positive way each day. Therefore, the right candidate not only loves people but is passionate about and understands how to work successfully with dogs, including helping new puppies acclimate to our facility, working to change any bad habits (i.e. jumping), administer medication when needed, etc.
The ideal candidate is hard working, customer focused, detail oriented and flexible. You must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and occasional holidays. Each of our Pet Care Specialists help us maintain a safe and clean facility, which means you must be willing and able to help clean and proactive spot and prevent safety issues.

Responsibilities
- Working independently and as part of a team to ensure all pups receive excellent care when at our facility.
- Ensuring facilities are kept clean at all times.
- Administering food, medication and ensuring dogs get both rest and play throughout the day.
- Interacting with customers, checking dogs in and out and helping answer any general questions.
- Preparing updates on dogs in care for their owners.
- Pick up and drop off of dogs using our pet taxi (must have clean driving record and be comfortable driving a large SUV)
Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with dogs, preferably in an animal facility or veterinary practice. Our Pet Care Specialists must be experts at handling dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages of dogs.
- You must be comfortable independently taking charge of a group of dogs, taking dogs for walks, stepping in and manage both positive and challenging dog interactions.
- Our dogs need our team members to be there for them. You must have reliable transportation to and from work and be reliable, arriving on time and working your scheduled hours consistently.
- Clean driving record. As part of this rule, you will occasionally drive our pet taxi and pick up or drop off pops within a 45 mile radius of our facility in Kingston.
- Our customers are awesome. You must have experience working with customers and solving customer concerns.
- Flexibility - you should be able to jump in and help with additional tasks/ hours from time to time as needed.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills. You will be communicating with customers regularly.
- This is a physically active role. You must be able to stand for multiple hours per day both indoors and outdoors and lift up to 50lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $20.50 per hour
