RUN Studios is looking for a self-directed, organized customer service focused Broadcast Engineering Team Lead to join our team. You will be working at one of the largest production facilities on the West Coast.
The Broadcast Engineering Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of engineers and integrators to support one of the largest facilities in Washington. This role involves comprehensive oversight of all video-based engineering across a large production facility as well as remote productions. Key responsibilities include project management of ongoing and future engineering projects, system design, managing the engineering of production control rooms, stages, post-production rooms, and virtual recording rooms as well as the Broadcast Operation Center. The role also involves new product evaluation, overseeing hardware and software installation and removal, ensuring technical equipment connectivity and functionality, and meeting client and project needs.
As a Broadcast Engineering Team Lead, You Will
Provide Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and integrators to maintain system and infrastructure onsite throughout the building and across remote productions.
- Train and develop internal and external team members.
- Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with all employees, providing feedback, coaching, goal setting, and career guidance.
- Foster an environment of open communication, creative thinking, cohesive team effort, and workplace trust.
- Communicate the company’s vision and project objectives to the team.
- Keep the team focused and on track by managing workflow and workload to meet project deadlines.
- Accountable for system and team documentation.
Provide Technical Expertise
- Assist with the design and engineering of video and broadcast systems and infrastructure.
- Provide technical support for video systems infrastructure owned by the client and operated by the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and hardware issues.
- Lead testing, development, and recommendations of new hardware, software, and infrastructure for the facility.
- Fabricate and modify hardware for the installation of equipment, when needed.
Project Manage and Report
- Oversee and project manage all engineering projects.
- Coordinate and escalate issues or activities on system projects to management or outside resources as appropriate.
- Report on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and production based reporting tied to team KPIs.
Excel at Customer Focus
- Deliver excellent customer service to ensure customer loyalty.
- Ensure the team is familiar with customer needs, specifications, design targets, development process, design standards, techniques, and tools to support task performance.
- Collaborating and partnering with our client to ideate on the future technology needs of the services and facility
Deliver Infrastructure Maintenance
- Oversee documentation of equipment, configuration, and installation procedures for reference.
- Oversee the integration crew and maintain quality standards of work.
- Prepare for new configurations by cutting and pulling out previously installed cables based on business needs to support client projects.
As an Applicant, You Bring
- Excellence in managing a team of engineers and integrators
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience in system design, integration and extensive hands-on knowledge of major audio, video, control, and display product lines
- Strong understanding and experience with SMTE 2110
- Strong understanding and experience with remote video solutions
- Audio/visual IT training through technical education and/or previous industry experience
- Experienced in audio-visual and IT systems for large-scale corporate communications
- Ability to provide creative solutions to technical issues including connectivity and functionality of equipment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across teams and with management
- Demonstrated initiative to develop skill set and foster an environment of learning
- Sense of urgency and excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail

- Supervisory Responsibilities
The Broadcast Engineering Lead will oversee, manage and lead a team of integrators, stages, and system engineers, collaborating with other teams and companies for a large broadcast facility and on location engineering needs.- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Physical Demands
- Physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing and walking around.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation
Pay Range: $130,000 - $175,000 (Salary)
The successful candidate’s starting pay within this range will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
