RUN Studios is looking for a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join our team. You will be working at one of the largest production facilities on the West Coast.
The Senior Broadcast Engineer is responsible for managing and scheduling the engineering staff for both in-house and remote productions. They are tasked with budgeting for upcoming productions, providing logistical and technical support, and troubleshooting for video productions and live events. Additionally, they ensure that the engineering team receives proper training and maintains documentation.
Applicants should have a strong understanding of broadcast system equipment configurations, knowledge of SMTE 2110 technologies, self-management skills, and excellent communication abilities. The role demands a sense of urgency and professionalism, especially under pressure.
As a Senior Broadcast Engineer, You Will
- Manage production schedules in coordination with the Engineering Lead.
- Attend or delegate attendance at pre-production meetings.
- Advise on technical issues and overseeing multiple production environments.
- Operate various broadcast video equipment and maintain signal flow.
- Support and maintain PC systems and software used in productions.
- Manage stages engineering schedule in co-ordination with engineering lead & scheduling team.
- Budget for upcoming production engineering support needs.
- Attend pre-pro meetings or delegating engineer to attend.
- Regularly review schedule with team lead escalating issues promptly.
- Coordinate with Engineering Lead to arrange cover for the internal engineering team, following external crewing and resourcing guidelines and process.
- Provide logistics for video infrastructures, technical support and troubleshooting for video productions and live events, including in remote locations.
- Advise on technical issues for Production show-flows.
- Oversee and manage multiple different production environments and technologies. Including, but not limited to: small and large stage, Broadcast Operation Center, Event Closed Captioning service, fully virtual events and recordings, etc.
- Operate multiple types of cameras and set up, color balance and match for production.
- Maintain signal flow - various signals and formats for broadcast including SMTE 2110.
- Operate broadcast video equipment; routers, frames/cards, switcher panels, format converters, cameras, etc. (including Imagine SDNO system, Grass Vally Switchers, Tricaster, Sony & Grass Valley Cameras, Ross Carbonite Switcher, & Expression CG. TSI Tally System, TAG & SNP Multiviewers. Black Box & Draco KVM Systems.
- Ensure stages engineers have adequate knowledge & training to serve clients and production requirements.
- Maintain training and operational documentation
- Support and maintain PC systems and software, used with switchers and other equipment used for production. e.g. Teams, Scan PCs, etc.
- Perform other related duties as needed.

- Familiarity with installed systems and equipment operation and configuration.

Compensation
Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000 (Salary)
The successful candidate’s starting pay within this range will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
