RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a User Experience Designer to join for an approximate 12-month project!
You must be based in Seattle and able to work onsite.
We are looking for a mid-level to senior UX Designer with a proven track record of delivering impactful design solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating storyboards, personas, and user journey maps. This role involves developing and iterating design concepts, producing high-fidelity mocks, and delivering detailed specifications to Engineering partners.
You will collaborate closely with technical product managers to define product scope and ensure alignment with project goals. Comfort with validating designs through customer usability and concept validation research sessions is essential.

As a User Experience Designer, You Will
- Develop and iterate design concepts to align with user needs, business goals, and technical requirements.
- Create high-fidelity mocks and specifications to guide Engineering partners in the development process.
- Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to define product scope, ensuring a clear and cohesive vision for deliverables.
- Conduct prototyping to explore design solutions and communicate ideas effectively to stakeholders.
- Lead or participate in usability and concept validation research sessions, using findings to refine designs and enhance user experiences.
- Develop essential UX artifacts, such as storyboards, personas, and user journey maps, to guide the design process and align the team on user goals.
- Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards, creating inclusive and user-friendly experiences for diverse audiences.
- Maintain a user-centered approach throughout the design process, balancing customer insights with business and technical constraints.
As an Applicant, You Bring
- 4 years industry experience providing interaction design solutions for web and/or software applications.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
- Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
- Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in an agile, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash highly desired.
- Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
- A strong online portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions is required.

Compensation
Pay Range: $45-$53 (Hourly)
The successful candidates pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
Benefits:
Benefits and perks may vary depending on location and nature of the work, but eligible employees have access to medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D benefits, health savings and flexible spending accounts, other telehealth and wellness benefits, a minimum of seven paid holidays per year, accrual of at least 6.5 days (Temporary Employment) to at least 15 days (Regular Employment) of paid time off per year, a 401k plan with company match, discretionary bonuses dependent on company, team or individual performance, and referral bonuses for eligible hired referrals.
