Activity Director

We are currently looking for an full time Activity Director for Runk & Pratt Forest

Responsibilities:

• Must love working with the elderly
• Ensure a quality program of activities that is designed to meet the needs of the residents
• Responsible for restoring self-confidence, community reintegration, resocialization skills, improving physical conditions, leisure education for residents, and one on one programming for the room/bed bound
• Provide mental stimulation and sensory stimulation and help develop a plan for each resident that is designed for restoration of the quality of life experienced by the resident
• Encourages hobbies and assists residents in forming small and large group activity
• Plans and implements life enriching programs and events which provide socialization opportunities, fitness and wellness activities, educational and recreational programs, as well as spiritual life support based on the needs and preferences of the residents in the community
• Works to encourage residents who have no or low participation
• Documents and maintains all records as required to effectively manage the department

Requirements:

• Experience with senior care
• Experience with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients
• This position requires the care team member to be able to reach (overhead), stand, walk, sit, pull, lift, carry, push, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist
• This position requires the care team member to be skilled in team building, collaborating with other disciplines
• This position requires the care team member to assess resident moods and revise approach accordingly
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

• Forest, VA 24551: Relocate before starting work (Required)
