What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Preventionist/Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) position at Runnells Rehab Center?
PART 1 : JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS
1. Monitor all reports of infections among employees and residents including subsequent documentation of infections that occur in the Hospital.
2. Implement appropriate prevention and control measures.
3. Collaborate with nursing staff interventions required for infection prevention and control.
4. Investigate and review medical records of residents with reportable disease conditions.
5. Prepare and report any facility infection on a monthly and quarterly basis to administrator and DON.
6. Report to public health agencies, local and state any reportable cases / disease outbreaks on a timely manner.
7. Act as liaison to any public agencies and hospitals for any resident with infectious deisease issues.
8. Prepare, review and submit to public health agencies, local and state level any information requested for any reportable cases / outbreaks on a timely manner.
9. Act as a team leader in collaboration with nursing leaders for any infectious disease issues.
10. Provides in-service educations to employees on infection prevention as needed in collaboration with the educator.
11. Monitor employees for proper hand washing compliance.
12. Collaborate with nursing leaders surveillance of potential infectious disease outbreak
13. Coordinate with nursing leaders in offering annual seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccines to consented residents and employees.
14. Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations & standards relating to infection prevention and control
