We're a local running store that brings our passion for an active life to work every day. Our goal is to help people find the right shoes or gear for their needs, whatever they may be.
We have three retail stores in Dayton:
- South Dayton: 8970 Kingsridge Dr, Dayton, OH 45458
- Fairborn: 2604 Colonel Glenn Hwy, Fairborn, OH 45324
- Downtown Dayton: 1200 Brown St, Dayton, OH 45409
We are looking for a candidate who will mainly work at the Fairborn location but is willing and able to go to the other stores if needed.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering an exceptional in-store customer experience on the sales floor of one or multiple of our stores. Your passion for running, multisport, the outdoors, or fitness creates a foundation for learning about our products to help customers achieve their goals.
We're looking for a people-focused retail Sales Associate to be responsible for helping customers on the sales floor, from performing a gait analysis to finding customer solutions. Sales Associate duties and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answering their questions about our running and fitness products, and recommending the right solutions.
You should be able to promptly resolve customer questions and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a sales associate, we'll keep you up-to-date with product features so you can maintain our store’s high standards in service and product knowledge.
Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service and to ensure customers leave the store satisfied they chose the right place for their running, fitness, and lifestyle needs.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
- Follow the store's sales and back office processes and procedures
- “Go the extra mile” to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain an in-stock and presentable sales floor condition
- Actively seek out customers in store
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Process POS (point of sale) purchases
- Handle returns of merchandise
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
- Build productive trust relationships with customers
- Follow inventory control procedures
- Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
Required
- Passion for running, multisport, or outdoors
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
- Availability on weekends (Fri-Sun)
- Availability in the afternoon/evening (until 7pm)
- Eagerness to learn all about shoe
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work flexible shifts
Ideal
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Hands-on experience with POS transactions
- Familiarity with inventory procedures
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
