What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equine Hospital Veterinary Technician position at Running 'S' Equine Veterinary Services?
Running‘S’ Equine Veterinary Services is an ambulatory and hospital practice seeking afull-time veterinary technician. Weoffer a caring and supportive environment for all the staff. The practice offers state of the artequipment for all of our procedures. Wework on your retired, pasture friend through your high performance horse. Ideal candidate is enthusiastic about theprofession. Applicants must demonstrate a positive, professional demeanor, beself-motivated, dependable, and work well in a team environment. Must be ableto work efficiently, and independently.
The jobresponsibilities include but not limited to-
· Jogging and lunging horses for the Veterinarianto evaluate
· Restraining horses for procedures
· Drawing blood and preparing tissue samples
· Perform laboratory tests
· Steriletechnique prep for injections
· Setting up Radiograph, Ultrasound Imaging, andother diagnostics (ability to carry up to 40 lbs)
· Cleaning and maintaining hospital equipment
· Monitoring hospitalized patients
· Keeping an accuracy on medical records andhospital billing
· Performing intensive care procedures forcritical patients
· Assisting in surgeries
